Honduras Medical 2024

Last month, we returned from our second medical mission trip to Honduras. We intend to make this an annual trip.

We took a medical team of 13, which included healthcare workers, clinic helpers, and prayer support. We averaged 125 patients per day over three days. We diagnosed and treated medical conditions and also gave away basic necessities that are scarce, including vitamins and Tylenol. We offered prayer for each patient, providing not only basic humanitarian assistance but also spiritual assistance after the pattern of Jesus:

“...God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 2:38).

We had a great time and witnessed many great things happening in the physical and spiritual lives of the precious Honduran people we served. A person who could not hear out of one ear began to hear after being prayed for. Another young man’s depression symptoms resolved after compassionate prayer.

Not only were we able to make a difference in the lives of our Honduran friends, but they blessed us as well. They prayed for us and showed us how they live dignified lives in the midst of impoverished living conditions.

We’re already planning next year’s trip (details to be determined). We need trained healthcare workers and clinic helpers and prayer support teams. No matter how unprepared team members may feel as they depart for Honduras, a special anointing seems to come upon them as they go. This grace supplies the energy and ability to fulfill the goals of the trip and the tasks at hand.
